Who Are We?
Leek Rotary is a group of members who wish to put a bit back into their local community whilst enjoying the benefits of mutual fellowship. Charity work is enjoyable and we have fun doing it. Our members come from all walks of life, from business, trades finance and education.
What Do We Do?
We raise funds and act as local benefactors, providing support to any worthy cause within the community. In the eight years up to 2023, Leek Rotary has raised over £250,000 by various activities. We are part of Rotary International a worldwide charity, involved in crisis and emergency response and on-going public health programmes such as our flagship worldwide ‘End Polio’ initiative. Here in the Staffordshire Moorlands, we offer practical help to other charities through the provision of fundraising opportunities with annual events such as the ‘Auto Extravaganza’ in Spring and the ‘Swimathon’ in the Autumn. And of course, our Christmas activities; ‘ Santa’s Grotto, the Sleigh tours around Leek and the ‘Tree of Light’. At all of these events we aim to encourage public participation, in particular with youngsters who can use these opportunities to get involved and further develop their interpersonal skills and experience.
